A man allegedly killed his wife in the Israeli-Arab town of Tira on Wednesday afternoon.
The woman, a 30-year-old florist, was shot at point blank in the head and evacuated in a serious condition to Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba, where she died of her wounds shortly thereafter.
Police began searching for her husband, a resident of Nablus, who escaped the scene.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the husband had arrived in the flower shop around 3:30 p.m., pulled out a gun, shot his wife in the head and escaped the scene. Medics arriving at the flower shop found the woman lying in a pool of her own blood and began resuscitation attempts. Concurrently, large police forces headed by Dep. -Cmdr. Shay Azoulai arrived on the scene.
"A preliminary investigation shows the couple has children and was undergoing a divorce," Azoulai said, adding that a police helicopter was also assisting the chase after the husband.
