Man seriously injured in accident on Highway 70

A 28-year-old man was hit by a car and seriously injured on Highway 70 on Tuesday evening. The victim had left his car to assist the occupants of a jeep that had skidded into a ditch, when a passing car struck him. He was evacuated to a local hospital. The man was wearing the neon yellow safety vest required to be worn by drivers who exit their vehicles on the highway.
