Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has obligated himself to bring any agreement with the Palestinians over a joint declaration of principles for Knesset approval, Attorney General Menahem Mazuz ruled Monday, accepting a petition by MK Gideon Sa'ar (Likud).
"Prime Minister Ehud Olmert has obligated himself to act according to the practice of the State of Israel and bring any document outlining Israel's obligations in the peace process for Knesset approval," wrote Mazuz in a letter to Sa'ar.
In the past, Olmert said that a joint declaration of principles did not require Knesset approval.
