MK Michael Melchior (Labor-Meimad) issued a bill Monday that would raise the legal age for marriage from 17 to 18.
Melchior argued that it was illogical to allow
17-year-olds to marry and have children, while they still needed to receive permission
from their parents for medical treatments until the age of 18.
