Ministerial advisor accused of faking degree

Police opened an investigation Monday concerning suspicions that Ofer Lefler, media advisor to Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter, had allegedly received monetary benefits to which he was not entitled and falsified an academic degree, Israel Radio reported. Lefler also served as deputy warden in the Israel Prison Authority (IPS), allegedly against protocol, as the position requires an academic background.
