Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz agreed to a request from Agriculture Minister Yisrael Katz to allow Druse farmers in the Golan Heights to market their apples to Syria.
Due to the successful outcome of last year's deal, Mofaz decided to permit the marketing of apples against this year.
Mofaz has authorized that the Kuneitra crossing be used to transfer the produce to Syria. According to Defense Ministry officials, the Ministry of Agriculture will decide when the crossing will open.
