Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz departed Tuesday night for a brief visit in Berlin and Bucharest.
While in Germany, Mofaz was expected to participate in a state event commemorating Holocaust victims and to meet with government officials.
He has scheduled to meet the Romanian president, prime minister, and defense minister during the second leg of his trip.
Army Radio reported that his talks would focus on developments in the middle east, defense collaboration with the two countries, international terrorism, and isolating Hamas.
