A 50-year-old nanny from Ra'anana was sentenced on Sunday to a year in prison for abusing a 10-month-old baby over an extended period. Army Radio reported that the courts disregarded the defense's requests for leniency, saying "We are talking about the fulfillment of every parent's nightmare. One would expect that such a woman treat the baby kindly and compassionately, as if it were hers."
