Prime Minister Ehud Olmert, forced to explain on Wednesday why his government did not include immigrant representatives, said that he did not intend to make sector-based ministerial appointments, since there would always be unrepresented sectors who would demand representation.
He expressed faith that the Israeli society was "mature enough to see the varied mosaic that makes it up."
Still, he announced that he was creating a committee charged with dealing with immigrant affairs.
