Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas were meeting in Jerusalem on Monday afternoon.
According government sources, the two leaders were discussing the usual topics of the ongoing peace talks, without any specific connection between the meeting and Olmert's upcoming trip to Washington, DC.
Heads of both negotiating teams - Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni and chief Palestinian negotiator Ahmad Qurei (Abu Ala) - also attended the meeting.
