Olmert picks Livni to be FM when Shalom quits

Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said on Thursday night that Tzipi Livni would be appointed to replace current Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom when he announces his resignation on Friday. Shalom will be the last Likud minister to heed party head Binyamin Netanyahu's call to quit the government. Netanyahu has yet to decide when to hand the resignation letters of the ministers to Olmert, which would make the decisions to quit official.
