Likud Chairman Binyamin Netanyahu called Acting Prime Minister Ehud Olmert on Thursday morning to offer his cooperation and assistance as Olmert took on his new role.
Olmert thanked Netanyahu for deciding to keep the Likud ministers in the cabinet for the time being.
Labor Chairman Amir Peretz also offered to help Olmert. He instructed Labor general-secretary Eitan Cabel to freeze the party's political activity in its branches, saying it was inappropriate, considering the current situation.
