Olmert to visit Bush, apologizes to Mubarak for Lieberman's 'crude' remarks

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is set to meet with US President George Bush after the two spoke over the phone on Wednesday. A statement released by the Prime Minister's Office said Olmert would visit Bush "in the near future." Olmert also spoke with Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak following comments made by Israel Beiteinu chairman Avigdor Lieberman during which he said that the Egyptian could "go to hell" if he failed to visit Israel. Olmert said that the remarks were "crude, unnecessary and damaging," adding that "Israel views Mubarak as a strategic partner and a close friend."
