One of Itta Fogel's attackers sentenced to ten years in jail

The Haifa District Court on Monday sentenced Liran Hubert, 26 of Haifa, to ten years in jail and two years on probation, as part of a plea bargain Hubert reached for his part in attacking and robbing elderly Itta Fogel last January. Hubert was convicted of robbery, sabotage and use of controlled substances. As part of the plea bargain the accusations of sabotage were dropped. Hubert was also ordered to compensate Fogel for the sum of NIS 17,000. Hubert is one of three teens on trial for attacking Itta Fogel. Arik Schechter, who was the first to be convicted in the case, was sentenced to 11 years in jail. An appeal he submitted to the Supreme Court failed; the court worsened his sentence to 13 years in prison. A third suspect in the case, Boris Bicho, has still not been convicted.
