MK Zevulen Orlev's (National Union-NRP) bill to ban MKs from the Knesset who did not swear allegiance to a "democratic and Jewish State" was voted down in the plenum Wednesday. The controversial bill was slammed by Arab MKs, who said that it was an "anti-democratic move" to force Arabs out of the Knesset. Orlev said that the vote against his bill was a "black day" for the Knesset.
