Speaking at a Cabinet meeting for the strengthening of Haifa and the north Tuesday morning, in which only four out of 18 ministers attended, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert said, "we will spend a total of NIS 2.8 billion until the end of 2007 to improve the quality of life in the north. I believe that these funds will help the entire area reach completely new heights."
According to the prime minister, "education is an especially high priority. Within the parameters of the budget extra funds of NIS 360 million were committed to the strengthening of the educational system in the north. We will build hundreds of additional classrooms in the north."
