"This is a holiday for Israeli democracy," Prime Minister Ehud Olmert declared on Monday as he spoke at the opening of the Knesset's winter session.
Olmert exhorted all Knesset members to do their work in a "worthy, respectable way."
People should know that they can depend on us, Olmert said. "Let's stress what we have in common, and not what divides us."
