A 17-year-old Palestinian girl attempted unsuccessfully to stab an IDF soldier Friday afternoon on the path leading to the Cave of the Partiarchs in Hebron. The girl approached the soldier and pulled out a switchblade knife. The soldier avoided the weapon and subdued his would-be attacker, who was arrested and taken in for interrogation in Hebron. On Thursday, IDF officer Nir Kahane was fatally stabbed by a Palestinian while on duty at the Kalandia checkpoint.
