IDF troops killed a Palestinian gunman in the West Bank town of Jenin Wednesday evening, the Islamic Jihad said.
The operative was killed in a gun battle with IDF troops, the group said. A second gunman, a senior commander, was wounded. Another group, the Al Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, linked to Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Fatah movement, also claimed the operative and started a march in Jenin.
The IDF said only that troops in the city spotted two armed Palestinians and opened fire, hitting both of them.
