Palestinians: Woman, boy wounded by Border Police fire at Machpela Cave

A Palestinian boy was seriously wounded and a woman was lightly hurt Tuesday by Border Police fire on the Palestinian side of the Machpela Cave in Hebron, Palestinians reported. Army Radio said that a Palestinian youth arrived at a checkpoint and during security checks he lit a fire cracker and brandished a replica handgun. Border policemen then opened fire, and according to Palestinians, hit the boy and the woman. The youth who lit the firecracker fled the scene unharmed.
