Parents arrested in Pearlman case

Mother and father of alleged accomplice David Sitbon in custody.

In the latest of a series of arrests in the Haim Pearlman 'Jewish Terrorist Case,' the parents of David Sitbon, alleged accomplice to Pearlman, were arrested at Ben-Gurion Airport Thursday evening.
With the parents in custody, the Sitbon family now counts four members in jail, including two sons David and Yossi.

Shin Bet told me to kill SalahDavid Sitbon, arrested on Monday, was suspected of stealing a weapon from an IDF base and passing it to Pearlman, who is accused of murdering four Arabs over a period from 1998 to 2004 and attempting to murder seven more.Sitbon's brother Yossi was then arrested on Tuesday after threatening to commit suicide on Tuesday night if his brother was not allowed to see a lawyer.
Sitbon stood on the roof of a 12-story Jaffa Street building in Jerusalem at around 11 p.m. on Tuesday, and yelled "If you don't let my brother see a lawyer, I'll jump," Channel 2 news reported.
Magen David Adom crews, Hatzala medics and police mediators reportedly arrived at the scene, along with hundreds of onlookers. After more than an hour of negotiations, police reportedly brought Sitbon safely down from the roof and arrested him.
Earlier Thursday High Court justice Edmond Levi ruled in the affirmative that Pearlman and Sitbon would be allowed to meet with their lawyers starting Friday.
"I was not convinced to prevent the [suspects] from meeting with lawyers. There is not enough to serve a goal that cannot be achieved after the petitioners are given the chance to meet with their defense lawyers," Justice Levi wrote in his ruling.
