Peres asks Annan to expand int'l force in Lebanon

Vice Premier Shimon Peres asked United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan late Friday night to expand the international force to be deployed in southern Lebanon and act to convince France to send more troops in addition to the 400 it already committed. In a phone conversation with the UN chief, Peres also requested that the International Red Cross be permitted to visit the kidnapped IDF soldiers Ehud Goldwasser and Eldad Regev.
