President Shimon Peres met with Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salaam Fayad in Jerusalem a week ago, Israel Radio reported on Tuesday.
The two discussed ties between the PA and Israel. Prime Minister Ehud Olmert was informed of the meeting. Peres also plans to meet with PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas, a move which will be coordinated with the prime minister.
Also on Tuesday, the president was meeting with Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) President Rene van der Linden. Peres criticized PACE for investing millions in developing Iranian oil fields.
"Europe could prevent war with Teheran," Peres said, and advised PACE to coordinate their activities with the US and Russia.
