Israel's hand is extended to Lebanon and Syria, so long as Syria stops its support of terror, Defense Minister Amir Peretz said Tuesday evening.
Touching on Israel's relations with the Palestinian Authority, Peretz said that the first signs of a "new direction" were showing in the PA. "If they prove they want peace, we won't hesitate to make painful concessions," the defense minister said.
Peretz spoke at a memorial ceremony for the Engineering Corps.
