"Israel has no interest in an escalation along the northern border, but she will know how to hurt those who try to hurt her citizens," said Defense Minister Amir Peretz late Sunday night.
He added that he would do everything possible in order to keep the border quiet and calm, and asked that the IDF to stay alert, Israel Radio reported.
Peretz's statements came after a daylong clash with Hizbullah forces involving missile, mortar and sniper fire. One Israeli soldier was wounded.
