Police on Wednesday detained and questioned under caution three suspects regarding their alleged role in the assault of OC Manpower Maj.-Gen. Elazar Stern and his family.
The incident, in which about 100 Orthodox Jews participated on Friday at the Western Wall involved stoning Stern and called him a traitor and a collaborator.
During the summer, Stern, an observant Jew, spoke out strongly against calls by rabbis and others for soldiers to disobey orders to carry out the disengagement from the Gaza Strip.
Also arrested on the same grounds Wednesday was a 32-year-old teacher from the settlement of Yitzhar
