Policeman killed after being hit by army-registered vehicle

A police officer doing a routine check of a car near Ramat Yishai was killed early Wednesday morning when a passing vehicle ran over him. The accident occurred at 4:00 a.m., near the bus stop at the Ramat Yishai intersection, on Highway 77. According to an initial investigation, the officer had stopped a car for a routine check when an army-registered vehicle suddenly crossed into his path and hit him. Magen David Adom paramedics who arrived on the scene were unable to treat the officer and declared him dead.
