The Middle East Quartet on Tuesday condemned the Kassam rocket attacks against Israeli towns and called for an immediate halt in the salvoes.
In a meeting in Paris with Middle East envoy Tony Blair, the Quartet also expressed its "deep concern" over the unfolding humanitarian crisis in the Strip and urged Israel not to cut electricity and gas supplies to the Palestinians.
Concerning Israel's plan to build some 300 new housing units in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Har Homa, the Quartet said both sides must avoid steps that would damage mutual trust and determine facts on the ground before final status negotiations.
