Police arrested a 31-year-old Ramallah resident on Thursday on suspicion of involvement in last week's attack on a factory owner in Kiryat Sefer. The Palestinian told police that he had intended to steal a cement mixer from the factory. The admission confirmed police suspicions that the incident was criminally motivated and police said that more arrests were expected. Police had initially thought that the attack was a kidnapping attempt perpetrated for nationalist reasons.
