Hamas and Fatah reached an agreement early Friday to stop the violence between the two factions, Israel Radio reported.
Representatives of both sides met overnight to take steps to stop armed clashes in Gaza and establish a coordination office between the two groups.
A Hamas spokesman said an Egyptian military delegation mediated the deal.
A Fatah spokesman said the two sides agreed that dialogue was the only way to resolve the disputes between them.
