Report: Katsav associates claim use of bugs

April 19, 2007 21:40

Close associates of suspended President Moshe Katsav claimed Thursday that they had new evidence that bugging devices were used in Katsav's close vicinity, Channel 1 reported Thursday. At the end of March, Katsav was questioned under warning regarding a second allegation of rape leveled against him by a woman known as 'Tourism Ministry A.' The allegations presented to the president were in addition to a previous complaint filed by the same woman who earlier claimed that the president had raped her at the ministry offices. Katsav has vehemently denied the allegations, which surfaced last summer, declaring himself the victim of a witch hunt.
