Prime Minister Ehud Olmert met about 10 days ago with a top Saudi official, according to a report published in Yediot Aharonot Monday morning.
The report claimed the official may have been a member of the royal family, or King Abdullah himself.
Few Israeli officials were aware of the meeting, which received a green light from the US administration, the report said.
Saudi Arabia has proposed a peace initiative under which Arab countries would sign peace agreements with Israel in exchange for its return to 1967 borders.
