Report: PM not in vegetative state, reflexes ok

Channel 2 television reported Thursday evning that hospital officials at Jerusalem's Hadassah Ein Kerem Hospital as saying Prime Minister Ariel Sharon is not in a vegetative state and that his reflexes are responding to stimulation. Sharon is in deep sedation, following a seven-hour surgery to stop a brain hemorrhage. The report on Israel TV's Channel 2, which came in advance of an anticipated official announcement as to Sharon's state, did not elaborate.
