A riot erupted in Shata Prison in the north of the country following a Friday sermon by an Islamic Jihad cleric in the prison that criticized Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas, calling him "our enemy." The riot, which began when Fatah supporters protested the sermon, was quelled by the prison's security forces.
