Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin said Monday that new elections would be held on Monday, March 6, 2006, as was first reported in The Jerusalem Post this past Friday. According to Rivlin, elections could not be held on Wednesday March 8, as had been previously suggested, because they would fall too close to Shabbat.
