School strike set for Monday in North and South

Teachers are intensifying their fight for increased wages with the announcement of a school strike scheduled for Monday in northern and southern Israel. Areas to be affected will include Be'er Sheva, Eilat, Dimona, Kiryat Gat, Ashdod, Ashkelon, and the surrounding communities. Sderot and the Gaza periphery communities will not participate. In the North, schools in Tiberias, Kiryat Shmoneh, Nahariya, Acre, Carmiel, Safed, Afula, Nazareth, Nazareth Ilit will also be striking. According to Israel Radio, special education programs will continue as scheduled.
