A senior Hamas official, Alah Hadad, also known as Abu Salam, was killed in an exchange of fire between Hamas and Fatah gunmen on Tuesday, Palestinian sources reported.
Hadad, a resident of the Tufah neighborhood in Gaza, was a key figure in the Hamas and responsible for many terrorist acts against Israel, including Kassam rocket attacks.
Nine other Palestinians were wounded in the shootings, most of whom were armed.
