Palestinians fired four Kassam rockets from northern Gaza on Thursday as sporadic shelling of the Western Negev continued, following the cross-border special forces raid launched by the IDF on Tuesday night. Over 50 rockets have been fired at Israel since Tuesday, when soldiers raided a structure 250 meters from the Kissufim border crossing in Gazan territory, which housed the entrance to a tunnel the army said was intended to enable Hamas to kidnap IDF troops in the immediate future. Early Thursday morning the air force fired on four armed Islamic Jihad terrorists in the village of Tel al-Zatar, in northern Gaza. The IDF said the attack was a pinpoint strike aimed at a cell which had fired rockets into Israel. One man was killed and four more were wounded in the strike, Palestinian sources reported. Despite the ongoing barrages, the IDF Home Front Command has ordered schools in the South to remain open throughout the week, and advised residents to go to work. Instructions on how to act during the attacks were issued anew on Wednesday. Speaking hours after Tuesday's raid, an IDF source stressed that the operation was not aimed at harming the cease-fire, but warned that the military would take further steps if forced to do so by Hamas. From Wednesday onwards, the IDF has refused to officially discuss Tuesday's raid. Meanwhile, in the West Bank an IDF unit acting on Shin Bet intelligence early Thursday morning apprehended Tanzim member Muhammad Abu Hadija in Kalkilya. The IDF described Hadija as a specialist in planting explosives. He has been transferred to security forces for interrogation.
