Six injured in head-on collision on Road 60

Two people were seriously injured in a head-on collision between an Israeli taxi and a Palestinian van on the southbound lane of Road 60 on Tuesday afternoon. The seriously injured were the drivers of the two vehicles. Four passengers in the van were also injured lightly, and all six were evacuated to Jerusalem hospitals. According to an initial police investigation, one of the vehicles apparently tried to pass in a no-pass zone, entering the oncoming lane while accelerating too quickly to prevent the collision. Police were at the scene of the crash, and traffic was reportedly backed up in both directions.
