A man in his fifties was killed Friday morning in Ashdod when he was hit by a cement carrying truck. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the man but pronounced his death shortly afterwards. Friday overnight, a 28 year old man died in a traffic accident near the Barkai Junction on the Wadi Ara road. The accident occurred when the driver veered from his lane and collided with a security barrier. He was moderately-to-critically hurt and taken to Hillel Yaffe Hospital in Hadera, where he died of his injuries. Police suspect the man was driving under the influence. Earlier, around midnight, Samer Halabi, 37, was killed in his village of Dalyat el Carmel when his car overturned on a main street there. He suffered a head injury and died shortly thereafter in Haifa's Rambam Hospital. Also Thursday night, a three-year-old girl was killed after she was run over by a relative near her home in the village of Ilut, near Nazareth. Meanwhile, in an accident on the Dimona-Aro'ar road, two people burned to death after their car overturned and caught fire. Firefighters who scrambled to the scene said the blaze that consumed the car was so intense it was hard for them to make up which make and model the vehicle was. The death toll on Thursday and Friday - six people - brings the number of people killed on Israel's roads since the beginning of 2008 to 234, according to an Israel Radio count.
