Six rapists ordered to pay victim NIS 1.25 million in compensation

The Haifa District Court on Wednesday ordered six men convicted of raping a young girl to pay her 1.25 million shekels in compensation.
The court decision was publicized after a request from the Web site, Ynet. It is the largest compensation figure ever awarded to a rape victim.
In May 2002, the young woman of around 20 years of age was visiting her family in Krayot, when the six men kidnapped her and held her captive in an abandoned building where they raped her and sodomized her multiple times for three days.
The rapists were given jail sentences ranging from 10 to 19 years.
