Snow began falling on Mount Hermon Friday morning.
Snowfall was expected to continue over the weekend and accumulate.
Hermon site manager Menachem Baruch told Army Radio that if enough snow fell, the site would close over the weekend. Baruch said he hoped that it would be open for winter sports by the end of next week.
Forecasters also predicted snow in Jerusalem on Sunday.
