A soldier from a Paratrooper unit was sentenced by military court to 21 days incarceration on Wednesday after he took a chained ornament from a Palestinian at a roadblock in the Nablus area. Soldiers from his battalion stressed that this was not an isolated incident and that they themselves were aware of similar occurrences. The battalion's officer warned his soldiers that the IDF looks upon acts of this type gravely, and that any soldier being caught stealing from Palestinian citizens would be punished severely.
