Son of Charlie Abutbul arrested in airport after returning from NYC

Adam Abutbul, son of Charlie Abutbul who was shot and seriously injured in a mob hit on Monday, was arrested at Ben Gurion airport on Wednesday evening after returning from New York. Abutbul is the police's chief suspect for the recent stabbing of the brother of Reut Rubin, the prosecution's chief witness in the Raanan Levi murder case. Levi, who was 18 at the time of his death, was an outstanding student from Rishon Letzion who was murdered in 2004 after an altercation with another group of youths, who allegedly called for members of the Abutbul family in for back up. Levi attempted to flee but was stabbed to death outside of a night club in Shfaim. Abutbul's lawyer said the police's timing was not coincidental, adding that the police were deliberately targeting the Abutbuls.
