The Shochat Committee's recommendations for the academic system "will lead to the privatization of higher learning," student leader Itai Shonshine said on Monday in response to the publication of the committee's conclusions.
"The prime minister signed the agreement saying that the students also have to agree to the committee's recommendations," Shonshine reiterated.
Other student leaders cautioned the government to stand by its commitment, as well, threatening to renew the strike that effectively shut down universities for over a month earlier this year.
