IDF troops discovered ten mines Saturday thrown by Syrians into Israel along the northern border. The IDF said they planned to file a complaint with the UN. The IDF said that the incident did not necessarily indicate an escalation between Israel and Syria. The incident followed two recent border violations including one where a shepherd crossed into Israel. The mines were taken from an old Israeli mine field and thrown into Israel by Syrian civilians and shepherds. IDF sources said they did not believe that the Syrian military or government was involved.
