Ten wounded during Ni'lin clashes

Seven Palestinians, two border policemen and an Israeli reporter injured; Kassam launched from Gaza.

An Israeli photographer was among 10 people hurt Friday afternoon during clashes between Palestinians and security forces over construction of the West Bank security fence near the village of Ni'lin. Shimi Gat, who Israel Radio said sustained moderate wounds from a rubber bullet to the chest, was working with an American team. Security officials said they were investigating the circumstances of Gat's wounds. Seven Palestinians and two border policemen were lightly injured. The Border Police said that around 150 people participated in the demonstration against the fence, and that rocks were thrown at security forces. Riot control measures, including rubber bullets, were used against the protesters. Clashes were also reported during a demonstration on Friday against the fence at Bil'in, near Ramallah, where border policemen used water cannons to disperse rioters. No serious injuries were reported.
