Tiberias mayor arrested on suspicion of bribery

Tiberias Mayor Zohar Oved was arrested early Tuesday morning on suspicion of election bribery, Israel Radio reported. According to the report, Oved was interrogated under caution after being arrested by National Fraud Squad investigators, who confiscated a large number of documents from his home and office. The mayor is suspected of giving bribes during the last elections and of granting favors to receive support for his position.
