Top Israeli-born elephant expert dies in Ethiopian terror attack

Israeli-born Prof. Yehezkel Shoshani, noted as a world expert on elephants, died at the age of 65 on Thursday when a minibus exploded in a terror attack in the center of Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa. He taught at the university there after spending almost a decade studying communities of the huge mammals in Eritrea and working to reverse their decreasing population. Although he was born and raised in Tel Aviv, Shoshani left for the US to study zoology and spent most of his time in Africa.
