Defense Minister Ehud Barak, after consultations with Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gabi Ashkenazi and others, decided to appoint journalist Yitzhak Tunik as the new commander and editor-in-chief of Army Radio.
"All of the candidates were worthy and the decision was a hard one. Tunik is widely respected among journalists and at Army Radio," Barak said.
Tunik was the acting head of Army Radio.
